Dr. Steven c. disney, jr.

Steve DisneyDr. Disney is presently the Superintendent of Oregon-Davis School Corporation in Hamlet, Indiana. He is also serving as a visiting graduate professor at Indiana State University working with dissertations.

Dr. Disney's focus has been to make a difference for students no matter where he has served. Whether it be as a classroom teacher, principal, or superintendent, his goal is always to serve as an educational leader, dedicated to delivering excellence in educational programming.

Just a few of Dr. Disney's many accomplishments are:

  • While superintendent at Oregon-Davis, graduation rates went from 74% to 91.5%.
  • Oregon-Davis led the State of Indiana in overall I-Step improvement registering 14.6% growth.
  • Led the Oregon-Davis School Corporation to become a "New Tech High School", one of only 60 in the country.
  • Planned, organized and led a successful General Fund Referendum in May of 2012.
  • Invited presenter at Secretary of Education, Arnie Duncan, National Labor-Management Collaboration Conference, May 2012.
  • Presenter at the National School Board Association Conference. "How to Engage Students and Transform Instruction Through Technology", Boston 2012.
  • Recipient of $1.6 million Federal Grant to implement TAP (Teacher Advancement Program) at Oregon-Davis, October 2010.
  • Awarded District 1 Superintendent of the Year by Indiana Association of Public School Superintendents, Fall 2011.
  • One of 100 school superintendents in the nation selected and invited to attend the Apple Educational Leadership Summit in Dallas 2009 and 2010.

 

dr. James l. Thorne

James ThroneDr. Thorne brings a diverse set of skills to Disney Leadership Solutions. His experiences range from expertise in central office leadership in both large and small school systmes, integrating technology into the curiculum, to financial and business management and resource development. Dr. Thorne served as the Superintendent of Westville Schools, Westville, IN from 2009-2011, Assistant Superintendent at the School City of Hobart from 2007-2009, and Principal of Central Elementary School in Valparaiso, IN from 2003-2007.

Just a few of Dr. Thorne's many accomplishments are:

  • Application and execution of state grants including: Save Haven Grant, Alternative Education Grant, High Ability Grant.
  • Authored and received a $1.97 million dollar zero interest Qualified School Construction Bond.  One of 70 recipients out of 300 applicants.
  • District 1 Middle-Level Principal of the Year, Indiana Association of School Principals, 2003
  • Presenter: Indiana Computer Educators Association (ICE) (1996-2003)
  • Facilitator: IndianaNEXT (1999-2002)  Indiana Department of Education training for school administrators on emerging technology.

Peggy Pollitt

Peggy brings an extensive record of being a valuable communicator, and team player with people at all levels of an organization. She brings a wide array of technical knowledge including web design, technology integration, online course building using learning management systems including Blackboard and Moodle. As a science teacher, she also held leadership rolls in the advisory program, and acted as teacher leader within her teaching group. She used the time away from the classroom, while raising her family, to become an expert in how to integrage technology while designing curriculum for all levels of education.
